I'm preparing a patch for gentoo that adds support to sendmail for putting the sendmail tables in postgresql. Documentation and 'tar.gz' are at the above URL. I'm finishing up the small things. I'll post a further comment when I'm ready to submit to gentoo.org. The ebuild is at http://blue-labs.org/software/sm-pgsql/sendmail.ebuild, the USE flag is "smpgsql".
there is already a postgres use variable and you should use that for the ebuild. While you are working this I am going to close this bug. When you have something prepared to submit, feel free to repopen this bug or create a new one. :)
