I also tried adding "=gnome-base/libglade-0.17-r6 -X" to /etc/portage/package.use, but it did not help. Unsetting DISPLAY did not help either.

try setting USE="-doc"
Comment 2 Erik 2006-08-30 11:49:33 UTC
> try setting USE="-doc"

# emerge =gnome-base/libglade-0.17-r6 -pv

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild NS ] gnome-base/libglade-0.17-r6 USE="bonobo nls -X" 0 kB

No "doc" there!

Gnome herd: this is libglade from Gnome 1.x ... what's the status on this one?
Comment 4 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-08-30 14:26:23 UTC
kill

do you run this merge in an X environment ?
Comment 5 Erik 2006-08-30 23:13:21 UTC
Yes, I use X (with Konsole and "su -"), as usual.
Comment 6 Saleem Abdulrasool (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-27 20:41:18 UTC
Marked for removal. Please migrate to gnome-2.x
