I just upgraded to kde-base/arts-3.5.4-r1 and kde-base/kdelibs-3.5.4-r1 and after rebooting, the xdm init.d script is unable to find xdm. I get the following message: * Service xdm starting which: no kdm in (/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/opt/bin:/usr/i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-bin/3.4.6:/usr/i386-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-bin/3.3.5-20050130:/opt/ati/bin:/opt/ati/sbin:/opt/blackdown-jdk-1.4.2.03/bin:/opt/blackdown-jdk-1.4.2.03/jre/bin:/usr/qt/3/bin) * Service xdm started I noticed that a request was made that the PATH information be moved to kde-base/kde-env in bug 104174, and the ChangeLog for arts indicates that the updated version resolves that bug; however, I can't find where the information has been moved to. I tried re-emerging kde-env just to make sure with no luck. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information.
As a workaround for this problem, I manually added 'PATH=/usr/kde/3.5/bin' and 'ROOTPATH=/usr/kde/3.5/bin' to /etc/env.d/99kde-env, then did an 'env-update'.
Created attachment 94971 [details] 45kdepaths-3.5 Yes, I broke it. Already fixed in cvs. The file your're missing should look like the one attached, only with lib64 in LDPATH, when you're using an 64 bit arch.
