Please see attached bzr-0.9.ebuild file - it's simply an update from 0.8.2.

bzr-0.9.ebuild (Update from 0.8.2)

Edited the 0.8.2-r1 ebuild for the new version. Each of the 3 patches from 0.8.2-r1 were already in the 0.9 source tree and are no longer needed.

ebuild's MIME shouldn't be application/octet-stream...
Comment 4 Marien Zwart (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-08-24 11:59:25 UTC
Bumped in cvs. For future reference:

- No need to update the $Header line, cvs updates this automagically.
- If in doubt use text/plain as mimetype, not application/octet-stream. Former is viewable in the browser without triggering a download.
- Patches are preferred over complete ebuilds. Use diff -u to generate. Much easier to see what you changed this way.
- Do not comment out epatch lines, remove them entirely. If you end up with a src_unpack that just calls unpack remove the entire function.
- The manpage location patch was still needed as far as I could tell. Also added a patch to make the tests pass with the latest diffutils.

Most of this is documented somewhere, but it's spread out over various docs listed under "Gentoo Development Documentation" on http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/list.xml.

(Please don't think this list of improvements means your contribution was "bad" or something like that! Contributions are appreciated, I'm just trying to save everyone some time by making future contributions follow the conventions)
