emerge --verbose --resume --skipfirst --ask

and

emerge --verbose --resume --ask 

both show the same tree of packages that will be built, when in reality, the former will skip the first one.

Portage 2.1-r1 (default-linux/x86/2006.0, gcc-3.4.6, glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r1,glibc-2.3.6-r4, 2.6.16-gentoo-r7 i686)
