New ebuild: UDF Verification Software by Philips Research. For more information go to http://www.hitech-projects.com/udf/. This tool lets you check UDF images for errors as well as (finally!) get a glue which UDF revision it actually is. Only disadvantage: I couldn't use it on DVD-RAM media /dev/hdc. It only works on image files.

source file no longer exists. "The Philips UDF verifier has been moved from this site to the Philips IP&S web site".
"A free registration as Philips IP&S Partner is required." This is a no-go. No one will want to register... I'm setting this bug to WONTFIX. If anyone wants this ebuild (which I haven't tested since 2006) (s)he can download it here anyway. Greetings, Andreas.
A registration appears no longer required and the version is up to 1.5-r6, can we just put a fetch restriction and have the user go to this page to accept the license? Or would it be ok to print this license notice in the ebuild and require a user to accept before downloading. I'm considering adding this to GURU. In any case, it's 2023, optical media are in their sunset years but still widely used for longterm archive... and Linux still has no working fsck for it on any distro. -r6 does work with devices, need to set use -scsi /dev/sr0 (or whatever other device name, it will work over ATA/ATAPI)
