I have media-libs/sdl-mixer-1.2.6-r1 installed. When I try to emerge lincity-ng, I get an error message while it's "configuring", saying that the SDL_mixer is not found, even though it is CLEARLY installed and working with other software: checking for sdl-config... /usr/bin/sdl-config checking for SDL - version >= 1.2.5... yes checking for SDL_mixer >= 1.2... not found configure: error: Please install SDLMixer >=1.2.2 !!! Please attach the config.log to your bug report: !!! /var/tmp/portage/lincity-ng-1.0.3/work/lincity-ng-1.0.3/config.log !!! ERROR: games-simulation/lincity-ng-1.0.3 failed. !!! Function econf, Line 495, Exitcode 0 !!! econf failed !!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.
If you could please attach the config.log file, it would be helpful.
And emerge --info as well.

You need to run revdep-rebuild (and re-emerge couple of things, such as libsdl and smpeg ... On a side note, your system is very outdated. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 130168 ***
