The wxPython-2.4.0.1.ebuild doesn't honor the "gtk2" USE flag. The patch attached fixes it. Although the upstream for GTK2 isn't yet 100% it will be sooner or latter, and it works (kind of, that is). Anyway people know that they may get into troubles if they have the gtk2 specified in their make.conf.
Created attachment 7267 [details, diff] Patch to wxPython-2.4.0.1.ebuild Besides setting the apropriate value of WXPORT in myconf this patch also forces using the same settings when installing as when compiling - this crucial in the GTK2 case to avoid compiling GTK-1.2 stuff when installing, and may be important for other settings in the future too.
wxPython-2.4.0.1 has been updated in portage.
