subversion ebuild delivers a perl utility "svn-load-dirs" that is essential for tracking thirs party sources. When executing svn-load-dirs the following error message appears: Can't locate URI.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/x86_64-linux /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/x86_64-linux /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib64/perl5/5.8.8/x86_64-linux /usr/lib64/perl5/5.8.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /usr/bin/svn-load-dirs line 20. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/svn-load-dirs line 20. So subversion should depend on "dev-perl/URI" for this component to work. This can be coupled to the perl use flag but then install svn-load-dirs only if perl use flag is enabled. All versions of subversion currently in portage seem to be affected.

Still needed; this needs to be added to 1.3.2-r4 and 1.4.4-r2. @sparc-fbsd - dev-perl/URI needs your keyword. :)
Keyworded
It is fixed in subversion-1.5_pre26086 in Eaedificāta Repository. http://www.ffta.host.sk/Eaedificata/index.html It is controlled by "perl" USE flag.
not apache related
fixed in 1.4.4-r4
