Description Alexander Skwar 2006-06-23 09:46:57 UTC
I tried to emerge suspend2-sources and this failed, as I didn't have enough space in /usr/src. After making sure that there's enough space, I re-ran:

  FEATURES=collision-protect emerge suspend2-sources

This failed:

[...]
existing file /usr/src/linux-2.6.16-suspend2-r9/arch/h8300/platform/h8300h/generic/crt0_rom.S is not owned by this package
[...]

alexander@blatt ~ $ epm -qf /usr/src/linux-2.6.16-suspend2-r9/arch/h8300/platform/h8300h/generic/crt0_rom.S
-MERGING-suspend2-sources-2.6.16-r9

IMO, that's bad and it would be better, if collision protect would not stop. I see the "package" "-MERGING-suspend2-sources-2.6.16-r9" and "suspend2-sources-2.6.16-r9" to be the same packages and because of that, I wouldn't mind if the files get automatically overwritten.

Yes, I do know about "FEATURES=-collision-protect" :) But this bug is about, that emerge would be made better, if it didn't "annoy" the user when files from a "-MERGING-" package are to be overwritten.
