It didn't used to do that. 1.0/2.0 gives 0 3.0/2.0 gives 1 This is wrong (it would be right for bc without the -l). It used to give 0.5 and 1.5 respectively.
Maybe, it's dup of bug #136643, IMHO. And then, it has a work-around way.
