Description Tod M. Neidt (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-03-27 09:23:38 UTC
Hi!

Abiword has a very nice system for getting user feedback through their bugzilla
implementation. See http://bugzilla.abisource.com/

Users are given a number of votes (currently 30) that they can use to identify
the bugs that they would like to have priority fixing. From following abiword
development, this system seems to work reasonably well.

the bugs system that Abiword uses is not great
on of the Admins wanted to change it, the only reason he did not was because of
the disruption it would have caused.

I would recommend the method that Mozilla currently uses (the ditched the old
method abiword is still using) where you get 30 votes but are only allowed use
one per bug.
The way Abiword does it is too easy for people to skew the votes.

you might want to change the OS and platform to all seeing as this is a bugzilla
meta bug/request.

I have fixed this, and I am going to send a message to core about this after I
do some more testing. Thanks for the update -
