As summary says, pax-utils-0.1.3 seems to have an off-by-one error (although I'm not sure where) that makes it use the wrong directory for splitdebug data (/usr/lib/debug/sr instead of /usr/lib/debug/usr, I suppose it would be "in" instead of "bin" and "ib" instead of "lib", but I don't dare to try). Filing bug before hunting down the issue so that I don't forget. Thanks, Diego
Sure this is not a dupe of bug 133628 ?

It's the same from a different perspective :P (as I was saying on #-portage) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 133628 *** *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 133628 ***
