Description Joël 2006-05-15 03:04:07 UTC
There is a display bug, which exists on portage-2.1_rc1-r2:

===========================================================

# emerge -pC glibc baselayout
>>> These are the packages that would be unmerged:

!!! 'sys-apps/baselayout' is part of your system profile.
!!! Unmerging it may be damaging to your system.

 sys-libs/glibc
    selected: 2.3.6-r4
   protected: none
     omitted: none

!!! 'sys-apps/baselayout' is part of your system profile.
!!! Unmerging it may be damaging to your system.

 sys-apps/baselayout
    selected: 1.12.0_pre19-r2
   protected: none
     omitted: none

>>> 'Selected' packages are slated for removal.
>>> 'Protected' and 'omitted' packages will not be removed.

===========================================================

The two packages are part of system profile. But see how the warning appears twice for sys-apps/baselayout, and not for sys-libs/glibc.

If I "emerge -C" a single package, such as glibc, the display is correct.

IMHO this should get fixed for 2.1 final :-)
