I'd like to see trac-svn in portage repository. The newest svn version (0.10dev) includes some cool functionality that the stable release is missing.
Created attachment 86659 [details] Ebuild proposal Here's a simple ebuild for building the svn version. It's based on the 0.9.5 stable ebuild.
Erm, like CVS/SVN ebuilds are something we try to avoid as much as possible due to our ebuild policy.

Sorry, didn't read that part carefully enough (http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/handbook/handbook.xml?part=3&chap=1#doc_chap3) I've been using the svn version for a few months now and noticed that it's pretty stable. I know it's always a bit risky to support these, but on my scale this package has been well behaving. They'll add things like MySQL and full Unicode support in the near future and it always takes months to get these into the stable version.
svn ebuilds won't most likely be added to the main tree. You should consider making a snapshot of svn. The svn ebuild is a good candidate for some experimental overlay like the webapps-experimental overlay.
I agree SVN ebuild should not be in the tree since they tend to break easily consuming developer time trying to fix it. I think that at least it must be updated to version 0.10.3 because its more advanced than the one available in the tree. Cheers.
Trac-0.10.3 is in the tree for 1 week now.
(In reply to comment #6) > Trac-0.10.3 is in the tree for 1 week now. The current development cycle is again IMO fast enough. I have no need for svn ebuilds anymore. You can close this, if you want. I just left it open for further discussion.
OK, then closing.
