Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-07-05 22:25:26 UTC
tclx is broken, not glibc/linux-headers

it does #include <sys/types.h> and tries to see if clock_t is defined ... if not, it'll turn around and do:
#define clock_t long
which causes this error:
/usr/include/time.h:61: error: two or more data types in declaration specifiers

http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/009695399/basedefs/sys/types.h.html
this says that clock_t need only be defined for XSI extensions and since the default check in tclx does not request XSI extensions, clock_t is not exported

I have just upgraded to gcc-2.4.1 and for that reason I did an "emerge -e world" and the only package that did not build was tclx (with this same error).

Comment 11 Greg Watson (linuxkrn) 2006-11-14 11:59:35 UTC
I've created an ebuild for tclx-8.4 that works with newer glibc. It's ~x86 masked but in portage tree now. Give it a try.
Comment 12 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-30 11:33:07 UTC
This is fixed in 8.4, which will be stabled together with emacspeak from bug 148854.
