The main purpose here is to track bugs in packages that break with the split openal/freealut that worked with the older openal snapshots on Linux, and to fix them.
What you're doing with the blocker in the ebuild is unnecessary and not o.k.. Please rename the openal-<datecode> ebuilds to openal-0_pre<datacode>, so the version numbering is correct.
Would you care to explain that, rather than simply saying that it is "not o.k."? One thing I'm *defintely* not going to waste my time doing is renaming a bunch of ebuilds. I've been working on this for a solid two weeks, and the last thing I'm doing is adding even more useless workload to my already busy schedule just to accommodate a renaming of all the packages *and* a breaking of people's current stable systems. No thanks.
Also, QA has *nothing* to do with this *tracker* bug. If you feel there is a QA problem, file a new bug and mark it as a blocker to this bug.
