File 237_all_visibility.patch (from collection xine-lib-patches-39.tar.bz2) adds VISIBILITY_FLAG="-fvisibility=hidden", which is not valid for gcc-3.3.6.  The patch only checks for compiler support of the visibility attribute, which gcc-3.3.6 supports, but then also adds the flag for -fvisibility, which isn't supported.  The -fvisibility is supported by gcc-3.4.5, and xine-lib-1.1.2_pre20060328-r5 does indeed compile with that version.
