Unmerging the old installation of koffice-libs prior to merging the new version seems to resolve this problem. Looks like another instance of bug #131408 to me.
Unmerging koffice and emerging the new version works for me too. A fast solution can be make the old version blocker for the new forcing the unmerge of the old package before the emerge of the new one.
