There should be a mentioning (by a step or a side-note) of excuting the /usr/portage/scripts/bootstrap.sh bootstrap script for Stage1 and 2 installers. This step, or a simple note, should be added before the settings of the timezone as this is where most users notice their Stage1/2 install is incomplete. I am aware that the script is mentioned in the FAQ, and that the handbook is biased towards using Stage3 tarballs so that users may run into less problems as possible. However, for users installing from Stage 1 and 2 using the same guide as they did Stage3, it is odd that the important missing step is in a FAQ subsection. It would be extremely helpful for those users if there some mentioning of the script.
