Description Peter Littmann 2002-12-28 15:58:38 UTC
I use a Nvidia Geforce 4 TI 4200 Graphics card which has device ID 0x0253.
In the new updated xfree ebuild this information gets lost, meaning the
xf86PciInfo.h is not uptodate. Before I had installed the 4.2.1-r0 from the
grp-install binary package which worked fine as now. Or did I something wrong?

Thanks
Peter

Sorry, forgot to to come back. Any reason not using nvidia drivers ?
Comment 2 Peter Littmann 2003-01-08 15:44:43 UTC
Yes, I was not ready to do it at this time. I had xfree with the nv-driver and
mozilla installed from grp-install and only wished to use my preferred browser
galeon. If I remember right this leaded me to the way of installing a new xfree
and mozilla from source and I thought: okay, to compile mozilla will take four
hours on my amd duron 600 but at least it wouldnt be a mistake or more badly
than the xfree installed by grp. But, what a surprise, it dont knows my
nvidia-card any more.
Did I something wrong or is it reality that the grp-install differ in this point
and when, why it differs and is it not documented?
Hope my english is not too bad and you can enlight me.

Thanks
Peter

Just wondering. Dont worry, my spelling grammer is not of the brighest either :)

Anyhow, Ill have a look, must be a patch I dropped by mistake.
