Comment 1 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-31 06:17:07 UTC
Sounds more like an issue on your system - running out of free memory and swapping too much...
Comment 2 David Watzke 2006-03-31 07:02:48 UTC
True. Full RAM... but i started emerge with more than 600 MB free (of 1GB) and empty swap... I never needed s much RAM to compile KMail... now I'll try it with -kdeenablefinal flag...
Comment 3 David Watzke 2006-03-31 07:12:27 UTC
Yeah, now (with -kdeenablefinal) it's okay. Btw, 5 times outta RAM while compiling same file... weird, isn't it?
Comment 4 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-31 07:15:07 UTC
Yep, it is strange.

But as many strange things as I've seen these days it doesn't surprise me.
Comment 5 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-31 08:08:48 UTC
$ euse -i kdeenablefinal
global use flags (searching: kdeenablefinal)
************************************************************

[- ] kdeenablefinal - Makes kde ebuilds use the enable-final flag, yielding big compilation speedups at the cost of very heavy mem usage

You've been warned, if you have issues with this flag, don't use it. ;)

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 128004 ***
Comment 6 David Watzke 2006-03-31 08:13:42 UTC
Only KMail... and btw, my bug is not duplicate... #128004 is duplicate of this.
