Description ChazeFroy 2006-03-04 10:42:17 UTC
New features/changes:

    * New option: do not automatically resize columns in headerlist (and remember columns' sizes)
    * New option: Do not automatically sort by subject (and remember the selected sort column)
    * New option: remember order of columns in headerlists
    * Show progress for decoding
    * New action: move to bottom of the queue
    * Sort by number of articles in available groups list (i.e.: when subscribing to newsgroups)
    * New shortcuts in headerLists: clear filter (Ctrl + C) and jump to the filter entry box (Ctrl + F)
    * New option: don't show statusbar at startup
    * French translation
    * During db migration/compact, articles are checked for consistency and discarded (KLibido should not crash anymore if there are bogus articles into dbs). A log of the discarded articles is created in the db dir (default: ~/klibido/db)
    * Progress dialog for db migrations

BugFixes:

    * Don't crash while canceling articles during decoding (and really cancel the article)
    * Cancel of update items while updating dbs now works
    * correctly remember "maximized" status for main Window.
    * Header dates now works in localized distributions as well

klibido 0.2.5 ebuild

This ebuild took a little bit of hacking to get working. Please test this and report your results. Thanks!
Comment 2 Kelly Price 2006-03-04 12:40:50 UTC
Will test on ~amd64

This ebuild compiles on ~amd64, but the application is difficult to use. This is very much alpha software.
Comment 5 Tanguy Bouzéloc 2006-03-22 10:01:14 UTC
tested working on ~x86, this software is quite alpha but is the only one working with large groups.

this ebuild fix also current 0.2.4.1, /usr/portage/eclass/db.eclass should be updated it only do symlinks on db.h, db_185.h and miss db_cxx.h header.

Comment 6 Avuton Olrich 2006-03-22 10:08:29 UTC
Yeah, unfortunately this version is as unstable as 0.2.4 was :( I can make it crash in a number of ways in under a few minutes. I've tried reporting these bugs but they generally just stay in the project's tracker and don't get fixed.
Comment 7 Tanguy Bouzéloc 2006-03-22 10:25:07 UTC
unfortunately you have to do with klibido bugs but there is no better binary newsreader ;-(

anyway I join db.eclass attachment for db_cxx.h symlink, admin/bdb.m4.in fails to detect correctly db_cxx.h, it only rely on db.h ... I do not know at all m4 syntax (and the little I see give me big headheck). I join also updated ebuild.

db_cxx.h symlink in /usr/include update

to make it work: emerge --oneshot sys-libs/db

updated ebuild to work with db.eclass update
Comment 10 ignoreme 2006-03-22 15:11:54 UTC
If I have /etc/portage set up as my overlay, and I add a directory in there called eclass, and drop the new eclass in there. When I rebuild db, will it use this new eclass?
Comment 11 Tanguy Bouzéloc 2006-03-23 02:18:37 UTC
You should not use /etc/portage for your overlay, it's already used by portage for per packages uses, masking and unstable tweaks (see portage manpage for more details).

db.eclass takes care of db compile and install rules, it's a very version dependent package and some apps require specific version to work, during post install it do some symlinks against latest headers version (4.2) but forget db_cxx.h.

So you have just to create an eclass dir in your overlay and copy db.eclass after just do emerge --oneshot sys-libs/db and db_cxx.h symlink will be created.

Anyway if you just want to install klibido you not should use my ebuild, because modifiying is tricky and you have to take care original of db.eclass updates after each sync.

0.2.5 is in CVS, thanks all!
