Description gad.kadosh 2006-02-25 23:35:41 UTC
I have emerged xchat-gnome-0.9-r1 and enabled libsexy (which does the spell chacking afaik), and though this worked in previous versions - it now doesn't. I don't even get the spelling suggestions submenu of the context menu.

This seems to be a bug in the libsexy ebuild, they're using the wrong function. I'll have a talk with the maintainer of libsexy.
Comment 2 Sven Wegener gentoo-dev 2006-03-25 11:51:34 UTC
libsexy-0.1.8 should have spell checks enabled, when app-text/enchant is installed. please try and if it doesn't work, please reopen.
Comment 3 gad.kadosh 2006-03-25 14:26:31 UTC
I have already installed libsexy-0.1.8 and xchat-gnome-0.10 and still spell checking does not work.
Comment 4 Sven Wegener gentoo-dev 2006-04-17 12:52:47 UTC
Should be working again with 0.11
Comment 5 gad.kadosh 2006-04-17 22:18:07 UTC
In fact, now xchat-gnome just crashes. gdb shows it's aspell's fault. I would say it's related to bug #129542
Comment 6 gad.kadosh 2006-05-21 02:24:09 UTC
with 0.11 spell checking does show me mistakes etc, but when i right click a mistake xchat crashes.
Comment 7 Sven Wegener gentoo-dev 2006-05-22 10:57:57 UTC
Works for me. Which version of libsexy and gtkspell do you have installed?
Comment 8 gad.kadosh 2006-05-22 11:31:55 UTC
libsexy-0.1.8 and gtkspell-2.0.11-r1
I also have other issues. xchat-gnome doesn't have an icon anymore - not in the gnome menu and not in the task-bar. Also the notification area icon stopped working - it used to show when there was a new message or ping in one of the open channels.
Comment 9 Nathan Phillip Brink (binki) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-05-12 22:25:37 UTC
Closing because I cannot reproduce this bug and it seems to have fixed itself throughout version bumps.
