There's nothing like setting up emerge with 60 packages to update, leaving for a 
while, and coming back to see that it died on the second one.

It would be nice  if it kept the compile output in a tmp file (such as sandbox
errors) and continued on it's way until emerge hits the end of the list or can't
procede because of the previous failure being a dependency of what is left.  An
emerge summary at the end could tell you what failed and where to check out the
information.
