/usr/share/man/mouse.4x.gz (Xorg mouse driver) is hidden by mouse.4.gz (serial mouse protocol). You can of course specify the full path/filename, but that is annoying especially if you found the man page via 'whatis' or 'man -k'. perhaps there should be a separate 'man4x' directory. I did this (temporarily) on my system, and both pages are accessible. From quick perusal, this is the only man page that suffers from this problem. There are other [1-9]x.gz man pages that reside in man[1-9] dirs, but none seem to overlap. thang etc # equery belongs /usr/share/man/man4/mouse.4{,x}.gz [ Searching for file(s) /usr/share/man/man4/mouse.4.gz,/usr/share/man/man4/mouse.4x.gz in *... ] sys-apps/man-pages-2.20 (/usr/share/man/man4/mouse.4.gz) x11-base/xorg-x11-6.8.99.15-r4 (/usr/share/man/man4/mouse.4x.gz)

It's a lot easier to find the duplicate when you already know it exists.
