Since I'm not (yet) using LDAP, I cannot test whether it's only the tests failing or the to-be-installed package also refuses to work.

This is solved in -r4. If you run a stable system, please add =net-nds/openldap-2.2.28-r4 to your package.keywords and give it a try.
