Hi if I upgrade vte-0.11.16-r1 to vte-0.11.17 I get these access violations.

unlink:    /usr/share/pygtk/2.0/codegen/defsparser.pyc
unlink:    /usr/share/pygtk/2.0/codegen/scmexpr.pyc
unlink:    /usr/share/pygtk/2.0/codegen/definitions.pyc
unlink:    /usr/share/pygtk/2.0/codegen/argtypes.pyc
unlink:    /usr/share/pygtk/2.0/codegen/override.pyc
unlink:    /usr/share/pygtk/2.0/codegen/reversewrapper.pyc

Hope this information is enough to fix the ebuild.

You *must* run python-updater after python upgrade...

Wow, thanks for the fast response, I did not know that I had to run python-updater. I even didn't know that I had to update python. 
This gentoo install is just a few days old so I didn't notice that I had an old python install at all.
