Description charles quarra 2006-01-19 18:06:23 UTC
the jack-audio-connection-kit has support both for SySV shared memory and nptl. By default it is compiled with SySV, however possibly for 2.6 kernels it makes more sense to override this default.

JACK compiled with System V SHM support (0.99.0)

this problem applies to the 0.99.0 (default stable) but its likely it hasn't changed in testing releases

Comment 2 Kito (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-03-05 16:13:29 UTC
vapier explained it very concisely:

12:04AM <vapier> the shm configure option just controls whether it uses posix style shared memory (i.e. named files in /dev/shm) or old style (unique memory keys)

Reopen if we are missing something.
