exactly the same here. tried it with any of the multisync-0.83* ebuild from portage, and the multisync-0.90.18 from bugs.gentoo.org.
Using the compination of multisync-0.83_pre20050414-r4 and synce-multisync_plugin-0.9.0 everything works.
