After I do a "emerge --sync" I get this from time to time: * An update to portage is available. It is _highly_ recommended * that you update portage now, before any other packages are updated. * Please do so and then update ALL of your configuration files. Could you please add this: * Portage updates can be done with "emerge -u portage" However if that's not 100% correct: please change it but include a hint what to do then, I'm for sure not the only person feeling lost seeing this message. Look at this: http://www.google.de/search?q=*+An+update+to+portage+is+available.+It+is+_highly_+recommended+*+that+you+update+portage+now,+before+any+other+packages+are+updated.+*+Please+do+so+and+then+update+ALL+of+your+configuration+files.&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 Thanks for emerge! Joachim
It should be "emerge portage" as -u implies other fun things we don't want ;)
