When running "emerge sync" today on OS X I received the following error:
>>> Updating Portage cache:   88%!!! Cannot resolve a virtual package name to an ebuild.
!!! This is a bug, please report it. (virtual/libstdc++-3.3)

Reproducible: Don't know, finding out would breach gentoo netiquette :)
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge sync

Results:  
>>> Updating Portage cache:   88%!!! Cannot resolve a virtual package name to an ebuild.
!!! This is a bug, please report it. (virtual/libstdc++-3.3)

bug reporter: please update to the latest *stable* portage.  You'll have to disable collision-protect for that.
