To quote the ebuild, this kernel is not supported by Gentoo due to its unstable and experimental nature. If you have any issues, try a matching vanilla-sources
ebuild -- if the problem is not there, please contact the upstream kernel
developers at http://bugme.osdl.org and on the linux-kernel mailing list to
report the problem so it can be fixed in time for the next kernel release.

well using vanilla-sources and gentoo-sources the kernel wont even boot for me. It doesnt find /dev/* stuff. git works fine apart from this bug
Comment 3 Greg Kroah-Hartman (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-01-10 20:53:45 UTC
The nvidia sure isn't supported by upstream, but I did see in a nvidia
forum somewhere where they had a patch that fixed things to work properly
with this driver (it was linked off of a post on the linux-kernel mailing
list.)

So again, this is a upstream issue, not a gentoo-kernel issue, please
do not add bugs to this database for this kernel tree.
