Description Tim Harder gentoo-dev 2006-01-10 19:16:08 UTC
Gcolor2 does not include the path /usr/share/X11/rgb.txt in the locations it looks for rgb info. This is where x11-apps/rgb installs the rgb.txt file. I don't know if this bug occurs using X11R6.9 since I only run X11R7.0.

I used the filename modular-rgb.patch for the patch in the ebuild, but you can change it to whatever you like.

bumped to -r2, test and report back
Comment 6 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-18 07:09:17 UTC
Cool, works fine now...

arches, please stabilize -r2; without this fix, you can't use RGB color names at all w/ modular X - which is a major issue for application with the sole purpose of selecting colors :)

To test, pick up a random color name from /usr/share/X11/rgb.txt, type it into the 'Color name' box, press enter and watch the result *g*

x86 chooses like a charm

Comment 9 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-24 08:18:56 UTC

last arch -> marking as FIXED
