Description patg68 2002-12-09 03:39:11 UTC
Hi there
I've got a HP Omnibook xe4400, and want to install gentoo. The problem is that
Any one of the gentoo boot CDs available freeze my comp after complete boot
process.

try http://www.gentoo.org/dyn/experimental/livecd/ (the "basic" one) and see if
it fares any better.

I tried this iso, but the problem still remains...
Comment 3 Daniel Robbins (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-12-16 11:12:40 UTC
Please let me know the last thing printed to the screen before the system locks
up when using the new experimental "basic" livecd. That information would be
helpful to potentially further track this bug. Thanks.

Seems I mis-understood the problem. In fact, the problem was the keyboard that
wasn't working any more after boot. To solve it I disabled the "legacy device"
in the BIOS.
