Description FieldySnuts 2006-01-04 12:52:53 UTC
net-misc/nx-x11-1.4.0-r4 fails to compile on systems with /tmp/ mounted noexec. This is because it is trying to execute binaries or scripts there, which /tmp/ is not for. Temporarily remounting exec gets around this, though a user should not have to do so.

It also fails to merge because it cannot find the rman command. I noticed rman is an item in portage, so if net-misc/nx-x11-1.4.0-r4 depended on rman, this would not be an issue. Manually merging rman first solved this.

Portage 2.1_pre3-r1 (default-linux/x86/2005.1, gcc-3.4.5, glibc-2.3.5-r3, 2.6.15-rc5-mm3 i686)

This is still a problem with net-misc/nx-x11-1.5.0-r8.
Comment 3 FieldySnuts 2006-08-08 07:26:06 UTC
Any comment on if there will ever be movement on this? Been eight months now. If the answer is 'no' that's fine, we'd just like to know :)
Comment 4 Stuart Herbert (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-04 16:29:23 UTC
These problems have been fixed in the NX overlay. I'll move the new packages in the overlay over to Portage after they've been tested.

Best regards,
Stu
