Tove, can you check latest version of diffball?
code in question is lifted from diffball actually, just want to ensure it's sane for diffball, if it is, just a matter of splitting libcfile out and having tarsync use that.

diffball-0.7.1 compiles. There are only "differ in signedness" warnings.
