Description Richard Gray 2005-12-26 15:47:43 UTC
Attempting to load the driver for this FDDI card causes the display to immediately go blank and the system proceeds to reboot.
Comment 1 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-26 15:58:18 UTC
Well, obviously we need to know kernel version. While we are at it, is the problem reproducible with latest vanilla-sources (2.6.15_rc7 currently)?

Hard to say anything else, except that bug# 4065 on bugzilla.kernel.org might have a bearing upon this.
Comment 3 Richard Gray 2005-12-26 16:19:52 UTC
Jakub, you were quick off the blocks there - I was scratching around for the extra information required. I have yet to try the vanilla sources - I'll report when I get around to trying.
Comment 4 Richard Gray 2005-12-30 06:59:02 UTC
With the latest version of modutils, this problem has disappeared!
