I found those great looking icons for kde and it would be great if they were in portage as they are really good looking. Ebuild included.

gnome herd: Does this work for your desktop? mozilla herd: What needs to be done to install the Firefox icons correctly?
I guess.. doesn't it install duplicates ? It should also use the gnome2 eclass icon cache functionality. Personally I don't think it should be dieing on something so trivial, it should make a choice.
(In reply to comment #8) > I guess.. doesn't it install duplicates ? Yes and no. The upstream packaging sucks a bit, because both KDE and Gnome tarball install partly the same icons. Also some icons are renamed duplicates instead symlinks. Since icon sets are desktop agnostic regarding the install location, it's not a problem, though. Just the tarballs are fat and more space is used on disk than necessary. > It should also use the gnome2 eclass icon cache functionality. What is this exactly, does Gnome some sort of system wide precaching? Please add the relevant bits, thanks. > Personally I don't think it should be dieing on something so trivial, it should > make a choice. Yeah, that's right. I'll change it, once I get feedback from the mozilla herd or update to Mozilla 1.5 myself.

Created attachment 107243 [details] nuovext-gnome-1.6.ebuild GNOME-only ebuild Probably easiest to make additional ebuilds for KDE and Firefox
Doesn't tango work for both gnome and kde? How do they do it?
Tango has a unified distribution + install script. nuoveXT has separate releases for the three platforms, and no script.
align ebuild requests to same values
There is no firefox-2.0 support removing mozilla team.
