There is a ShowImg 0.9.5 Release Candidate out since about two months. The most important new feature is database support to store meta-information about images. Actually it would be cool if one could choose this support via use-flags (afaik it supports sqlite and mysql). I've created an ebuild that was successfully able to install this release candidate on my machine, with working database support (actually there were some bugs in the database functions, but imho these are bugs in the ShowImg code). Since I don't know the bash variable magic that was used in the original ebuild, I had to hard-code the paths inside it (the _rc1 suffix doesn't play well with the original ebuild). As a side note, for professional image management I still recommend KimDaBa. :)
