Description Weonbin 2005-12-21 03:46:41 UTC
Hi

I've made an ebuild for the user space "Mobile IPv6" tools for Linux
WIth these tools and a properly patched kernel you can enable mobility support on an ipv6 network
(the mipv6 patch against 2.6 can be found at http://mobile-ipv6.org/software/, it may be also included in some gentoo patched kernels)

I suggest net-misc/mipv6

cheers !

Until the patch is accepted in the vanilla kernel, we wont add the user-space tools to portage - it doesn't really make much sense to have user-space tools for an unsupported kernel feature in portage.

Feel free to reopen this bug once the patch is accepted upstream.

Mobile IPv6 support has been present in the Linux kernel for quite a while (at least since 2013) now, so I believe that it is about time to provide the userland stuff as well.
