just updated pango and gtk due to firefox-1.5.0 update. Pango comes now with version 1.10.1 and gtk+ is 2.8.8 Some applications now have squeezed fonts [1] [2] I found out, that this depends on the actual font which should be rendered. Some fonts squeeze, other not. And if I use aliased fonts, there are no problems regardless of the font-type. I've seen this as well, in firefox 1.5, as well as Gimp 2.2.
