Description Martin Fernau 2005-12-06 11:09:36 UTC
just updated pango and gtk due to firefox-1.5.0 update.
Pango comes now with version 1.10.1 and gtk+ is 2.8.8
Some applications now have squeezed fonts [1] [2]

I found out, that this depends on the actual font which should be rendered.
Some fonts squeeze, other not. And if I use aliased fonts, there are no
problems regardless of the font-type.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. update pango/gtk
2. open firefox and go to http://forums.gentoo.org

Actual Results:
fonts are squeezed like in my pictures

Expected Results:
render the fonts like qt would be nice ;)

I've seen this as well, in firefox 1.5, as well as Gimp 2.2.
