Description Philippe Fremy 2002-12-01 09:28:59 UTC
There are better merge client than sdiff. I would be glad to use one. For
example, KDE has kompare that seems to be working pretty fine. I think gnome has
one too (gtk-diff ?).

Anyway, being able to specify the merge client in the same way I specify my
download manager would be nice.

Of course, a text fallback is also needed in case of a graphical client.

Uhh... etc-update.conf you can select a merge command already.

Sorry for wasting your time but how could I have known ?

man etc-update -> nothing about /etc/etc-update.conf
man emerge -> nothing about this
portage user guide -> nothing about this
etc-update --help -> nothing
portage reference manual -> nothing

So yes, I could have read the source or scanned the 133 files in /etc for a
config file. But I did not.

Please do at least update the man page.
