when modprobe lirc_serial in 2.6.14
I get:

lirc_serial: Unknown symbol verify_area 
As I found out on some forums it is fixed in lirc cvs. So I have to wait for a
newer lirc than 0.7.2

Steps to Reproduce:
1.modrobe lirc_serial
2.
3.

Actual Results:  
lirc_serial: Unknown symbol verify_area when modprobe lirc_serial in 2.6.14

Expected Results:  
to load the module lirc_serial
