Hi, I was wondering why there isn't an eBuild for UltraVNC because it's free, fast due to it uses compression and supports strong authentication via DSM-plugin. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/ for source code 2. Go to http://msrc4plugin.home.comcast.net/index.html for the DSM-plugin Actual Results: No eBuild is found when doing "emerge -pv ultravnc" Expected Results: UltraVNC should be included in the tree and there should be an eBuild for it. Now, if you could point us to the linux version download, please... ;p
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=63887 At this URI is an archive called *src.zip - isn't this source code which can be used on Linux? I don't know much about C/C++ compiling (especially on Linux) but AFAIK could that be ported to Linux, right? :) And I've read a bug here at bugs.gentoo.org in which a guy said something about that he uses UltraVNC on X - therefore I thought it would be possible.. ;) If not: is there any VNC-software which uses compression and is *free*?
As you can read here http://forum.ultravnc.net/viewtopic.php?p=12220#12220, there is no Linux version available. You can just run the Java Viewer as a compiled version.
