Cannot find an announcement, but it's available for download on the same server as 2.0s9. From what I saw in the ChangeLog, it seems to fix some bugs.
Created attachment 73755 [details, diff] Update for version bump. I was able to use 2.0.10 with trivial modifications to the 2.0.9 ebuild. This patch are the changes I made. Uses versionator instead of harcoding the file name. Also includes a fix for bug 80763, otherwise the ebuild dies ungracefullf when using the debug flag. Can we get at least one of these 2.x releases marked as stable? I've been using it for months with no problems. Not sure what the upgrade path is for 1.x -> 2.x though.
Hello. 1. It's really necessary to avoid hardcoding of version number in ebuild. Thus patch should be applied. 2. I think it's good idea to slot package. jabberd-1 and jabberd-2 are different servers and thus some users may want to install them both. So just marking jabber-2 into stable is not what one may wish. Peter.
Hello, works fine here (intranet only), but there are some fine adjustments to do in the config file as for dm3's post in http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-363426-highlight-jabberd2.html. Hope it helps.
It would be really great if 2.0s10 could be added to portage, it fixes (among other things) an ugly crash on amd64 platforms.
jabberd-2.0s10 has been in portage since Feb 01
