Description Kristoffer 2005-10-25 08:49:45 UTC
shfs-0.35-r1 usually makes my system freeze completely while unmounting the
remote file system, or while browsing it. This doesn't seem to happen while
reading or writing to files.

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. use shfsmount to mount a remote file system
2. have it mounted for 1-2 hours (don't know if this actualy makes any difference)
3. browse the mounted file system's directories
4. unmount the remote file system
Actual Results:
When unmounting the remote file system, my computer quite often freezes
completely. Sometimes it freezes even before that, when accessing the filesystem
in some way, i.e. browse through its directory structure. For some reason
(luck?) it haven't yet happend while writing to a file, corrupting it, (or when
reading files for that matter) but actually only while either browsing the
directories or unmounting the file system. One of these occurs always every time
I use shfs; only once have I been able to have the remote file system up for
some hours and then have it unmounted without any freezes.

Expected Results:
Not make my system freeze! The remote file system should work nicely all time,
and it should be unmounted without an abrupt system halt.

This might be related to bug #74867 in some way.

Also, when it has crashed while simply browsing remote directories, it once
happened in emacs, while using its path completion feature when I was about to
open a file on the remote file system. Most often it happens when browing it
with konqueror.
