The empty DEPEND="" can be removed(?). Otherwise compiles and works ok on amd64.
Upstream can still be found on SourceForge but it hasn't seen any activity at least since April 2013 (in reality most likely for much longer, as the last post on the Web site dates back to January 2006; incidentally, the "almost ready" new release promised by that post has never materialised). Moreover, there are already quite a few tools in Portage offering similar features - net-analyzer/iptraf-ng in particular comes to mind.
This bug has made no progress for years. Can we please confirm whether this package is still wanted? If it isn't, or if there is no response within 30 days, we will close this bug. Thanks Amy
I still use this package installed from a local overlay. If nobody else has interest on it and considering it did not have any development recently, the bug can be closed in my opinion.
In light of there having been no comments in favour, closing the bug as requested by its author.
