hum I think this is a nice extension but it is probably going to be superseeded by gnome 2.16 development according to my readings on planet.gnome.org What about asking overlay team to take care of it until gnome 2.16 is released (I think this should be considered for lots of ebuild marked maintainer-wanted for gnome).
tested the ebuild, works nicely
Ok, eiciel-0.9.2 is now in gentoo-sunrise overlay, available here: http://gentoo-sunrise.org/svn/reviewed/gnome-extra/eiciel . Thanks to Tristan Heaven for the again perfect ebuild, you should definitely join gentoo-sunrise (irc.freenode.org: #gentoo-sunrise)
I believe this ebuild needs some rework. I have nautilus-2.26 and I’m experiencing the same problem as here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/eiciel/+bug/356031 So, I can use eiciel as a standalone program, but I get no ACL tab in Nautilus file properties (that’s the reason I wanted Eiciel in the first place). Except in my case, installing nautilus-actions (also from overlay) didn’t solve the problem: I emerged actions, then re-emerged eiciel, no luck. Running eiciel standalone works just like before, anyway, as do getfacl/setfacl. Does anybody care to find out why (which can includes asking me to run tests, of course), or should I just file a bug upstream?
Eiciel-0.9.8.1 is now in portage, thanks to everyone for helping it get there! > eiciel-0.9.8.1 (26 Nov 2011) > > 26 Nov 2011; Alexandre Rostovtsev <tetromino@gentoo.org> > +eiciel-0.9.8.1.ebuild, +metadata.xml: > Add Nautilus ACL editor extension from the gnome overlay, previously > maintained in the sunrise overlay. Thanks to Tristan Heaven and Tiziano Müller > for the original ebuild in sunrise (bug #109221).
