I stupidly thought that I'd check out Ubuntu, to see what all the fuss was about. After a few days, I thought I'd try out what's supposed to be a Debian-based distro's greatest feature: a dist-upgrade. HA! I suppose I can be blamed for trying to upgrade to a beta release, but Debian-ite's have been telling me there's no problem with doing this (as it's the only way to get anything remotely current on the desktop). Anyway, the upgrade failed so bad, X wasn't even running any more. So I promptly blew it all away and went back to Gentoo. Sorry for the aside. In rebuilding my box, I got stopped with the same problem that I initially reported in bug 94696. That reminded me to add mythtv to my packages.keywords file. However, I added all the various optimization settings to my USE variable (to take advantage of them in media applications), and mythtv wouldn't recompile. I didn't think that I had been using the "nvidia" flag before, so I took that out, and the compile went through again. So, I'm reporting that "mythtv-0.18.1-r2 won't compile with the 'nvidia' USE flag." Post eome errors, please... we can't guess.
Nevermind. I tried again with the "nvidia" USE flag, and it built fine. I don't know what's going on. Sorry to waste your time.
Thanks for reporting back.
